Chisapani Nagarkot Trek Introduction

The Chisapani Nagarkot Trek is the easiest and sweet Trek in Nepal. Chisapani lies at the Northeast fringes of Kathmandu City. It is widely famous among domestic tourists as well as international tourists. This hike lets you escape the most beautiful and closer look at the Northern Himalayas from Nagarkot Valley.

You will witness the most ravishing sunrise and sunsets through the hills and mountains of Nagarkot. Nagarkot being the central and rim valley of Nepal lets you catch the sight of the most beautiful Mount ranges of Manaslu Himal, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal, Gaurishankar Himal and we can even spot Mount Everest in the far distance. Chisapani is one of the famous tourist destinations and is the nearest trekking trail from Kathmandu. It lies in Shivapuri National Park from where you can observe the most stunning snow-capped mountain and greenery hills.

Chisapani is also a gateway to the famous tourist trekking trail Langtang Gosainkund. Trekking to this beautiful place offers you mesmerizing views of Nature. You will be away from the hustle and bustle of the city area and experience life in a local place with local people. You can exploit the rich culture and tradition of mixed races like Tamang, Gurung, Chettri, and Magar peoples. You will get a chance to get a view of the countryside and experience beautiful and memorable days during your trek.

As Chisapani Nagarkot Trek is the shortest trek, you will reach this place within 3 days of hiking. This trek can also be customized as per your wish where we can extend it to more days for hiking to Namoboudda and Dhulikhel. Both places are famous stops for tourists hiking. This trek is perfect for those tourists who have little time left in Nepal and want to explore it further.
Through this hike, you will have time to explore famous Monasteries, Stupas, and gumbos of Buddhist culture and Temples of Hindu culture.

Outline Itinerary

  • Day 1: Drive to Sundarijal and trek to Chisapani (2115m)-4 to 5 hours
  • Day 2: Hike from Chisapani to Nagarkot (2195m)-7 to 8 hours
  • Day 3: Hike from Nagarkot to Changunarayan (1390m) and drive back to Kathmandu

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Drive to Sundarijal and trek to Chisapani (2115m)-4 to 5 hours

We will have our morning breakfast and leave the hotel early.

Our guide will accommodate you in a jeep or car and we will reach Sundarijal which is 15km away from Kathmandu after 35-40minutes of the drive. After we reach Sundarijal our hike will begin. We will start hiking through a beautiful forest with hills and mountains views.

We will encounter the Waterfall and watershed of Sundarijal which is the main supplier of water to Kathmandu Valley. Sundarijal is a famous and popular picnic spot where people spend their time in a peaceful environment with greenery surrounding their friends and family. We will pass through the villages of Tamang and Sherpa settlements.

We will hike for 4-5 hours today to reach Chisapani via Mulkharka. We will sightsee the beautiful variety of birds and animals. We will walk downhill of the forest and reach Chisapani. We will have rest and admire the beauty of this. We will insight into the fantastic view of Mountains and hills.
We will stay overnight in the hotel.

Day 2: Hike from Chisapani to Nagarkot (2195m)-7 to 8 hours

We will have our morning breakfast and depart Chisapani.
Today we will hike to the famous tourist valley Nagarkot. Today will be the day of long hours of a trek through dense forests of Sivapuri National Park.

We will walk along with the sound of birds chirping. After 3hours of the hike, we will reach Chauki Bhanjyang where we will stop to have lunch and rest. We will again march forward through a straight trail in the countryside. We will cross through the villages of Fields of maize and vegetables. After 18km of the walk-in total, we will reach Nagarkot.

We will accommodate you in a nice hotel from where you can have a view of the Mountains and Hills in the morning.

Day 3: Hike from Nagarkot to Changunarayan (1390m) and drive back to Kathmandu

We will have breakfast with a fantastic view of sunrise through the Mountains and Hills.

We will hike to the nearest Hindu ancient Temple Changunarayan which is a UNESCO world heritage site. We will take lunch in Telkot. From Changunarayn we will drive to Bhaktapur Durbar Square. We will explore this beautiful place and drive back to Kathmandu the same day.

Stay overnight at Kathmandu.
