Their help and support was beyond what can be described using the language, but I will try. I have a paternal type surreal feeling while enjoying their support. It felt as five young people were keeping a keen eye on six adults like a mother watching her young child all the time! Their observation was such that many times they could guess what we need or what they can help us with, much before we have to ask for it. I still can not get this in my head that one gentleman carried a box of fresh fruits to EBC so we can have balanced diet while on the trek! I know behind all this orchestration was the effort of Sh. Ganga Ji, who made all the arrangements. So a big thanks to him also. On the way all the accommodations (tea houses) were great. Food was excellent and even the service was quite prompt. I went to Nepal with the thought that it is the place which is only appropriate for me to go as hiker, but after the great experience I returned with desire to come back with the family.

 Anil and his colleagues were really accommodating, quick to respond, and helped me to plan a trip around my schedule.

 When issues arose on my end, they were quick to create solutions to assist me.

 They understood that this was a once-in-a-lifetime chance for me, and they responded to all of my questions.

As soon as I arrived in Nepal, I knew I had made the right decision.

I was picked up at the airport and taken to the hotel, where I met Anil and Samir, my tour guide.

Samir double-checked that the hiking gear I packed was in good shape, and he was surprised that I had everything I needed.

The following day, we flew from Kathmandu via EBC.

Samir looked after me for the next twelve days in the Highlands.

He is an expert in the surrounding area. If you point to a mountain, he can tell you it’s altitude and identify it.

He has travelled widely in the area for over eight years and uses this experience to make your trip more enjoyable.

He knows the owners of each hotel where you stay and makes sure you have a comfortable room.

Do you require laundry service or a hot shower? He will advise you on where to do the task (and where not to).

As you walk the trails, he may tell you how long you have to go and which sections will be difficult and which will be easy.

  We originally planned to do ABC in 2020 but had to cancel due to covid. Communication with Ganga prior to our trip was always excellent, his responses were always prompt... read more and he was so accommodating when we had to reschedule a few things. We felt like we were well looked after throughout the whole trip, from airport pickup/drop off to the excellent Hotel services. We did the trek in mid October and the hiking conditions were beyond expectation. The pace of the trek allowed us to really enjoy the scenery, each location of the guesthouses and also helped us to acclimatise as we did not suffer with any altitude sickness. Our tour guide Puspa was very good, he took good care of us, made us feel comfortable and safe with his expertise and was approachable. We were so grateful to our porter who also worked so hard everyday. The teahouses/guesthouses are full of character and we really enjoyed our stay. The food was also excellent and usually plentiful. On the trek the terrain was quite varied through lush green forests to mountains and past rivers/waterfalls and near rice patty fields. Everyday we were spoilt with the most beautiful scenery. The trek was challenging but rewarding and not too difficult. We loved our holiday so much we would love to do EBC with NHT! Tip: we highly recommend paying the extra money to fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara as the road conditions were quite poor and due to traffic.

Our guide Dinesh was awesome from the beginning till the end, and we became good friends during the trip. Our porter was also very friendly and kind and we all enjoyed each others’ company. Trekking in the region during this time of year is risky, and unfortunately our trip was cut short because of inclement weather; although this was disappointing, we felt safe and cared for under Ganga and Dinesh’s guidance. Nepal is a beautiful and exciting country, and I recommend experiencing the adventure with this company!

The Nepal Hiking Team were incredible from the moment we landed in Kathmandu. We had a fantastic couple of days in Kathmandu and were taken on a full day tour of 3 historically and culturally important areas by our great guide, Ramesh. After settling into Nepal, we headed off to Lukla to start our trek and met Paban, our trekking guide who was the best guide we could have hoped for! From the first day, he always made sure we got the most out of our days and experienced everything in the best possible light, he also kept us calm and made sure we feeling good but also never freaked out if we did experience normal symptoms from ascending in altitude! We made it through the incredibly scenic three passes, base camp, Chukkung Ri, Kalapattar and Gokyo Ri, and will take home so many amazing memories of Nepal and its people. We can't thank Paban enough for his guidance and friendship, and also Ganga for answering and meeting all of our questions along the journey. We highly recommend NHT for a locally based tour company and would use them on our next adventure in Nepal!
