5 Days Bhutan Tour Introduction

The 5 Days Bhutan tour takes you to the unique culture and tradition of Bhutan along with the fascinating natural beauty.
The tour starts with a thrilling flight to Paro over panoramic mountain views. The tour guides us to be familiar with the unique cultures of Bhutan. You will get to visit different monasteries with unique importance and architects. Turning your head around you will just see the beautiful green surrounding with small streams flowing covered with light clouds. We will also visit the fertility temple – Chimi Lhakhang temple. Climbing up the Lungchutse Lhakhang above DochuLa Pass gives you a better view.

Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery is also the best part of the tour. You will get a spectacular view of Paro valley from this temple tucked into the mountainside. For tourists with less time and wanting a great tour, the Bhutan tour is perfect. This 5-day tour covers nature and culture at once.

The tour is for 4 nights and 5 days starting from Paro. It is an easy tour with a maximum altitude of 3120m. The best time to go on the Bhutan tour is April to June and September to November. The tour offers you a panoramic view of mountains and hills along with cultural heritages and traditional experiences. The tour includes one day hike and the rest of the days are traveled by bus.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Paro and drive to Thimphu

Drive Duration: 1 and a half hrs

After you arrive in Paro we will be welcoming you to Bhutan. Then we will drive you to the capital city of Bhutan i.e. Thimphu. It will take us 1 and half hours to reach Thimphu from Paro by bus. Today you will be exploring Thimphu which has mesmerizing views around.
We will visit the great Tashicho Dzong from where you can overlook the city. You can also see the monastery surrounded by forests. Moving ahead we will pause by a religious monument – Memorial Chorten (built in honor of their former king). At the end of the day, we will visit the magnificent golden Great Buddha Dordenma statue. From here you will get to see the sunset down the valley. Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 02: Drive from Thimphu to Punakha (75 km)

Drive Duration: 3 hrs

A warm breakfast with a beautiful view is a great start to our day. Leaving Thimphu we will drive to Punakha today. The route passes through a dense forest and slightly climbs up to the Dochu La Pass (3050m). We will be entering into the sub-tropical valley with fascinating mountain views. Punakha used to be the capital city of Bhutan before Thimpu.
We will also visit the National Library here which has a collection of cultural and religious heritages. Our visit also includes Punakha Dzong (architectural masterpiece). In the evening we will join the prayer ceremony at the nunnery in the town. Overnight stay in Punakha.

Day 03: Explore Punakha and drive back to Paro

After early morning breakfast, we will hike towards Chimi Lhakhang temple which is also known as the fertility temple. This temple is quite popular among the Bhutanese pilgrims. After the temple visit, we will drive through the Dochu La Pass which gives you spectacular views of mountain peaks with the border of Tibet.
Just above Dochu La Pass, you will see the hilltop temple – Lungchutse Lakhang (500m) which gives you a great panoramic view. The small hike to this temple passes through rhododendron forest, moss, and brick. Enjoying some time here we will descend downhill to Trashigang Goemba (meditation center). Here you will find the bus that will take us to Paro. Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 04: Acclimatization Day in Paro (hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery)

Today is the last day of this travel journey; we will be ending this with a hike. Today we will be going for a full day hike to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery also called Paro Taktsang. This temple was built in the 17th century up in the mountainside.
We will climb up along the steep path for 3 hours and reach the temple. A short offbeat hike up from here will take you to a few more monasteries. From here you will get a fascinating view of Paro valley surrounded by greenery. Then we will descend down to Paro, on the way we will also take a quick visit to Khyichu Lakhang temple (Bhutan’s oldest temple). With a warm farewell dinner, we will spend the night in Paro.

Day 05: Departure

You can see a few nearby places in your leisure time before the flight. We will take you to the airport before your scheduled flight time. We wish you a safe flight.
