I would like to give a shout out to our guide Surya during the trip. He is a very knowledgable guide and made everything he could do to support us and make us feel comfortable during the trek. He answered our endless questions kindly and also gave us space when we needed. He and our porter even organized a surprise birthday celebration with a cake on 4000+m altitude, as it was my friends birthday! It was a memory to remember. Overall I would definitely suggest Nepal Hiking Team for your trips in Nepal!

Communication with Ganga prior to our trip was always excellent, his responses were always prompt... read more and he was so accommodating when we had to reschedule a few things. We felt like we were well looked after throughout the whole trip, from airport pickup/drop off to the excellent Hotel services. We did the trek in mid October and the hiking conditions were beyond expectation. The pace of the trek allowed us to really enjoy the scenery, each location of the guesthouses and also helped us to acclimatise as we did not suffer with any altitude sickness. Our tour guide Puspa was very good, he took good care of us, made us feel comfortable and safe with his expertise and was approachable. We were so grateful to our porter who also worked so hard everyday. The teahouses/guesthouses are full of character and we really enjoyed our stay. The food was also excellent and usually plentiful. On the trek the terrain was quite varied through lush green forests to mountains and past rivers/waterfalls and near rice patty fields. Everyday we were spoilt with the most beautiful scenery. The trek was challenging but rewarding and not too difficult. We loved our holiday so much we would love to do EBC with NHT! Tip: we highly recommend paying the extra money to fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara as the road conditions were quite poor and due to traffic.

Always happy to share his experience, insights and names of the mountains around us with altitudes. Each evening he briefed us on the next day's trek, what to expect and to call on him at night with no hesitation if we had need, with a smile. Netra noticed my struggle and lethargy on the Chola Pass section, one of the most demanding days of the EBC with Chola pass trek. He insisted the porter carry the extra weight of my pack while on the ascent, which the porter did with gladness, just to make it that bit easier. It made a huge difference to know how much they cared about our individual needs. I offered to carry it on the descent but it was no big deal for him to carry it all the way to our guest house. They go the extra mile to ensure we are comfortable and enjoying the trek. No surprise I was the slowest and last to arrive at the guest houses. Netra patiently waited for me and never made me feel rushed. He walked at my pace. When climbing up a hill we stopped often to rest and enjoy the views. With such a client focused mentality Netra and his porters gave us all the best experience we can possibly have in the mountains. While it's a very demanding trek you're in safe hands with Netra.

  I was lucky enough to take part in the Everest Base Camp trek with Nepal Hiking Team as part of a group leaving on 18 December 2022. My experience with... read more Nepal Hiking Team was excellent from start to finish. The whole trip was taken care of for us and didn't require any prior planning. On our arrival at Kathmandu airport, our guide Dhurba was waiting to greet us and take us back to our hotel. We couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome to Nepal! The day after our arrival, we got the chance to meet the rest of our tour group at the hotel before we all set off together on a tour of Kathmandu. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Kathmandu by our guide Ramesh, who was highly knowledgeable about the city and spoke perfect English. Thank you Ramesh!!

The next day we flew to Lukla to start our hike. Our guide Dhurba went out of his way to get us good seats on the plane so that we could enjoy the best views of the Himalayas throughout our journey. On arrival at Lukla. we commenced our 12 day hike to Everest Base Camp and back. The hike itself was not too challenging as we took it at a gradual pace. It did get tough for a few days closer to Base Camp due to the high altitude and the cold temperatures. Dhurba was always on hand to reassure us , give us advice and to provide any medicine that we required. I hadn't brought diamox with me so it was good to know that Dhurba was able to provide this if/when it was needed.

Overall, the trek was really enjoyable and, although tough at times, it was certainly not an experience I will ever forget! Thank you to Dhurba who was a great guide. He was highly knowledgeable about the region and the mountains. He was always patient and let us go at our own pace. He was always in tune with how we were feeling. On days we weren't feeling great, he didn't push us to take part in any additional hikes if we didn't want to. He even insisted on carrying my day bag if I felt particularly tired. Christmas Day was spent two days away from Base Camp. Dhurba surprised us with a Christmas gift which was very much appreciated when we were far away from home! Dhurba made a big effort to get to know everyone in the team and by the end of the tour he had become our friend as well as our tour guide. Thank you Dhurba for being such a great guide! It wouldn't have been the same without you.

The only slight hiccup on our trip (which was down to the elements !) was our return flight not being able to leave Lukla due to bad weather. As soon as we made the decision that we wanted to leave Lukla and return to Kathmandu via helicopter, Ganga and Dhurba managed to organise this for us right away and a helicopter to take us at a cheaper price than other trekkers were paying. Before we left Lukla on helicopter, our incredible porters throughout the trip, Nima and and Purna, came to say bye and gifted us ceremonial scarves - it was such a lovely way to mark the end of our time in the mountains.

On arrival back in Kathmandu, Ganga came to greet us at our hotel and was eager to hear about our trip. The following day we left Nepal and Dhurba accompanied us to the airport - it was a really nice touch that we were able to both start and end our time in Nepal with Dhurba.

Overall, I was very impressed by the service offered by Nepal Hiking Team. Despite the fact you can't expect luxury throughout the trek, Nepal Hiking Team ensured we stayed in some of the most comfortable teahouses. The tour was great value for money considering all meals were included (and teas/coffees at the teahouses - of which I had plenty!) as well as all of our accommodation, internal flight and Kathmandu city tour. Nepal Hiking Team also provided us with duffle bags for the trek and sleeping bags which were a lifesaver. Ganga was so nice and super friendly and helpful - he was on hand to answer any queries I had both before and throughout the trip and would always respond immediately. 10/10 service!

We had the best time in Nepal. It was such an amazing country and the people were some of the nicest I have met. I'm so glad we chose to do the tour with Nepal Hiking Team and would definitely use them again if I decide to re-visit Nepal - thank you for making our experience so unforgettable!

Unfortunately, I developed altitude sickness so couldn’t complete the trip, but I’m leaving this... read more review to tell you how wonderful Nepal Hiking Team was in taking care of me. They allowed us to stay at one location for an extra night to see if I could acclimate. When that didn’t work, Ganga arranged a helicopter evacuation and hospital stay. He came and visited me in the hospital and worked on arrangements to allow me to re-join the trip in Pokhara. NHT completely and thoroughly took care of me, and I felt very safe. I would have no hesitation traveling with NHT again. And our guide and porter were terrific as well.
