On arrival, we were met by Ganga who helped us understand our itinerary and had sorted out a day trip around Kathmandu with a private guide, Kumar, who was easy-going and his insightful knowledge of the City, its culture and people led to an fascinating day out.

The trek itself was also perfectly organised with 4 incredible days led by the awesome guide Raj who went above and beyond to make sure everything was as perfect as can be and we would have no hesitation in asking for him to lead our next trek on our inevitable return! The sunrise views at the top of Poon Hill were worth the early rise and walking and would recommend to anyone. A special mention must also go to our porter, Durbar (not sure on spelling!) who will now graduate to becoming a guide and anyone who treks with him will find themselves in great hands!

Following our trek, we had a wonderful few days in Chitwan where Nepal Hiking Team had arranged everything for us and we had a private tour across the jungle with viewings of crocodiles, rhinos and many many other species!!

All in all, we could not recommend Nepal Hiking Team enough, from the consistent and clear communication, the detailed organisation and most importantly the amazing staff that we encountered. We will definitely use them again!

Our experience started in Kathmandu. Ballaram was personally to welcome us at the hotel and booked us in a very nice and confortable room at WoodApple Hotel which is close to the Kathmandu's main attractions. During the trek our guide (Surya) and our porter (Keshab) did all they could to provide us with the niciest accommodations and food during the trek. They were very professional regarding the aclimatization to the high altitude. We live in a sea level city and before our trek we were woried about high altitude sickness. Surya was very carefull on advising us to control our walking speed and hydration, plus they helped us with a lot of climb high and sleep low. The result is that my wife didn't had any simptoms of high altitude sickness (even in Thorong La Pass) and I had very litle headache that I'm not sure if it was due to altitude or due to the cold wind up in the pass. About the trek it were incredible, the weather were just perfect, there was a lot of blooming along the way and a thin cap of snow at the pass, which turned the landscapes even more beautifull. I can say it was one of the best vaccation of my life!

As for the hike for our 5 days expedition in the mountain, do expect really cold weather in December as there are no heaters in the room. Temperature ranges from 0 to 10 degree Celsius in the day time and -5 to 0 degree Celsius in the night time (bearable with sleeping bag and blankets provided).

The guide (Bishma) and porter (Sabin) services provided is good where they tend to your every needs.

Our guide, Ishwor Subedi, recognized us at once when we arrived in the small Pokhara airport as Nepal Hiking Team agency had previously sent a photo from us. He was very helpul from the beginning to the end with wise advice on the comparative advantages of the guesthouses on the way...He also has a sense of humor, which has allowed us to do the long walks more easily.

Ganga, who manages Nepal Hiking Team with his brother, provided a good package deal, including 2 nights in Woodapple Tree and Spa Hotel in Kathmandu.
