Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek Introduction

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek 5 Day is one of the simplest and most difficult treks in the Annapurna region as it provides spectacular mountain views of stunning Mt. Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchare, Himchuli, and several other nearby snow-capped mountains.

Short Poonhill trekking is suitable for those bound by their time limits and cost limits. Poonhill offers the ability to achieve an elevation of 3210 m which is the highest height we can hit when taking part in a simple Poonhill climb. Poonhill hiking path continues through the blooming forest of rhododendrons and bamboos and also offers us the chance to visit the ethnic villages of Gurung and Magar. Ghorepani is one of the villages in the Dhaulagiri Region in the Myagdi District. It sits at an elevation of roughly 2874 m, 17 km away from Beni, the district capital.

The village falls within the city of Annapurna. To see the sunrise and sunset, we will switch to a maximum height of Poonhill which is 3210 m. In the lower portion of the Annapurna Conservation Area, there is a short hiking path. This trail’s main goal is a spectacular viewpoint at Poon Mountain, from where you can admire beautiful snow-capped peaks.

The trekkers would have a profound experience of this area as the path leads to the forest of rhododendrons, numerous settlements, lakes, diverse ecosystems, and lush forests. The traveler is similarly impressed by the friendly reception and the actions of the residents.

Fast hiking Poonhill starts from Nayapul, which is within driving distance from Pokhara. We should enter Pokhara by flight in 30 minutes, or the drive would take about 6 hours. We should quit Nayapul, taking the dirt trail via Tikhedunga, Ulleri, Ghorepani, Tadapani, and Ghandruk.

It is often regarded as the Sunrise Walk. You are seeing the serene nature of Mt. Annapurna (8091 m) on the road to Ulleri and Ghorepani, and Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167 m) provides you with a special sight that will give you the feeling of heaven. Poon Mountain, the final destination, brings hikers everlasting happiness because they are in harmony with nature.

Hiking training isn’t ending now. From Poon Hill, we travel to Ghandruk Village where we appreciate the Gurung Museum in the lovely village of Gurung.
