Everest Base Camp Trek Introduction

The Everest region (Khumbu) of Nepal is the most renowned tourist destination. It is well-known for its stunning mountain peaks and its residents’ (the Sherpas) integrity and friendliness. The majestic Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the most magnificent treks loved by everyone worldwide.

The Everest base camp trekking track is one of the most famous Himalayan destinations that meet the world’s highest mountain. It also incorporates Mount Everest (8848 m) and Sagarmatha National Park, a World Heritage site.

The highest point on the trek is Kala Patthar (5545m) which has a fascinating picturesque view. With a climb of Kala Pattar (5545m/18187 ft), you could witness the breathtaking panoramic view of Mount Everest. It is encompassed by mountains, which are the highlights of Everest base camp hiking. The 15-day Everest Base Camp trek begins from Lukla (2,860m/9380 ft) after 35 minutes of the Kathmandu airstrip.

On your way, you will notice that many Jhopkyo (Yak mix breed and typical cow) will hold them as Yak cannot live below 3,000m/9840 ft. And the mixed animals are used to bear trekker loads and mountaineering expeditions.

Climbers will mostly spend 4-8 weeks at Everest Base Camp acclimatizing to the Altitude. At that time, in the famously unpredictable Khumbu Icefall, the “Icefall Doctors” must be mounted with ropes and ladders. Seracs, crevasses, and ice-moving blocks make the icefall one of the route’s most dangerous areas. In this section, several climbers and Sherpas died. Usually, climbers must start their ascent long before sunrise to reduce the risk when the freezing temperatures block glue ice. There are extensive sections of the EBC trail. Many trekking people get blisters on their feet due to uncomfortable footwear. Make sure that you wear a comfortable one. You’re on a long walk to a remote part of Nepal.

The trail is progressively ascending and descending today. As we come closer to Gorak Shep, the course gets rough. We’re going to have to walk on a large rock up and down. We’re going to rest when we get to Gorak Shep. For an overnight stay, we will check into a hotel.

We will begin walking towards the Everest Base Camp when we drop our backpacks at the hotel. To stop the problem of altitude sickness, we must stroll. We will be able to enjoy the spectacular view of Khumbu Icefall. The base camp offers a mixed sense of fluctuating emotions.

This moment is real! It is true! At the foot of the highest point in the world, we are finally! It is a vast, beautiful camp at the Everest Base. Join Mt. Nuptse, Khumbuste, and Pumori with stunning views. Get a few pictures on the backdrop of you and Mt. Everest. It will surely be a significant moment. After all, the EBC trek is a lifetime memory. We will be proceeding through the lush green alpine forest. The trekking trails are strenuous.

Day 13: Trek back to Lukla

Maximum Altitude: Lukla (2,800m/ 9186.35ft)
Trip Duration:
6-7 hours
Overnight in a small resort in Lukla

After our breakfast is over, we’re going to pack our bags and tighten our shoelaces to launch our trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla’s lower hills.
Continuing, we’re now passing the Hillary Bridge and several other bridges that can be seen with copious Buddhist prayer flags throughout. Now, as the altitude drops and the number of oxygen molecules increases, you can sense the atmosphere getting thick.

The temperature is also beginning to rise higher than at Namche bazaar, as trekkers strive to reach Lukla well below Namche Bazaar. We will meet various stupas and monasteries, and mani walls. We also will start hearing the roaring sound of the Dudh Koshi River, coursing powerfully.

We travel through several forested trails of RhododendronRhododendron and pine trees covering large areas while watching some of the snow-capped mountains’ final glimpses. You will relax in a small resort when you arrive at Lukla.
