Everest Base Camp Trek Introduction
The Everest region (Khumbu) of Nepal is the most renowned tourist destination. It is well-known for its stunning mountain peaks and its residents’ (the Sherpas) integrity and friendliness. The majestic Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the most magnificent treks loved by everyone worldwide.
The Everest base camp trekking track is one of the most famous Himalayan destinations that meet the world’s highest mountain. It also incorporates Mount Everest (8848 m) and Sagarmatha National Park, a World Heritage site.
The highest point on the trek is Kala Patthar (5545m) which has a fascinating picturesque view. With a climb of Kala Pattar (5545m/18187 ft), you could witness the breathtaking panoramic view of Mount Everest. It is encompassed by mountains, which are the highlights of Everest base camp hiking. The 15-day Everest Base Camp trek begins from Lukla (2,860m/9380 ft) after 35 minutes of the Kathmandu airstrip.
On your way, you will notice that many Jhopkyo (Yak mix breed and typical cow) will hold them as Yak cannot live below 3,000m/9840 ft. And the mixed animals are used to bear trekker loads and mountaineering expeditions.
Climbers will mostly spend 4-8 weeks at Everest Base Camp acclimatizing to the Altitude. At that time, in the famously unpredictable Khumbu Icefall, the “Icefall Doctors” must be mounted with ropes and ladders. Seracs, crevasses, and ice-moving blocks make the icefall one of the route’s most dangerous areas. In this section, several climbers and Sherpas died. Usually, climbers must start their ascent long before sunrise to reduce the risk when the freezing temperatures block glue ice. There are extensive sections of the EBC trail. Many trekking people get blisters on their feet due to uncomfortable footwear. Make sure that you wear a comfortable one. You’re on a long walk to a remote part of Nepal.
