Island Peak and EBC trek Introduction
Island Peak Climbing with EBC Tour is an excellent chance to climb the grand Island peak Mountain-Nepal, the most famous tall trekking mountain, and a hike to Everest Base Camp.
Island Peak Summit is 6,189m or Imja Tse placed above Chhukung’s summer territory and glimpsed from Dingboche on the top. Trekking on the Island Peak delivers a refreshing hiking excursion in Nepal. The Island peak is the Everest region’s most popular and outstanding trekking peak to ascent. The EBC trek to Island peak is suitable for both novice climbers and seasoned hikers.
By entering the Island Peak, you can feel 6189 meters on the tip of a grand summit. Existing on the tip of the edge of the Island Peaks provides the same tremendous feeling of achievement as you can feel on top of Everest Mountain. It is known as Island Peak because when you are trekking it feels like a sea of ice surrounded by Lhotse and Lhotse Shar Glaciers, like an island.
The name Island Peak Climbing with Everest Base Camp Trek was administered in 1952 by the organization of Eric Shipton while investigating Barun Gorge. From the top of Island Peak Nepal, we can encounter the stunning panorama of some of the world’s largest summits like Mt Makalu, Lhotse Middle Mount, Mt Lhotse, Lhotse Shar, Mt Nuptse, the mighty Ama Dablam, Mt Baruntse, and other amazing snow-covered peaks encircling it.
After a brief flight to Lukla, the trek launches. The roads take you to Phakding, a UNESCO World Heritage Site (Sagarmatha National Park) in Dudh Koshi’s green valley, and then to the applauded Namche Bazaar where we’ll spend two nights adapting to the new atmosphere.
Trekking from Tengboche to Pheriche to Lobuche can go on; these culturally prosperous Sherpa villages are full of Chortens, religious Mani Walls, museums, and extraordinary Himalayan perspectives. We will tour the Everest Base Camp before the deliberate Island Top and climb Kalapathar for the panoramic spectacle.
The Kalapathar is popular with hikers as one can get a completely elegant sunrise or sunset view. The top view of Mount Everest could also be seen. We will be hiking to Island Peak’s base camp and high peak on the 15th day.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive at Kathmandu
Our agency will grandly welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, where our representatives will meet and greet you. They will then accompany you to a hotel. After you check in, you can relax and enjoy yourself for a while or explore the tourist hub for some shopping and souvenirs.
You will spend every second of the night at the hotel.
Day 2: Flight to Lukla (2610m), trek to Phakding (2610m)
After your yummy breakfast, you will be leaving for Lukla, which will take you about 35 minutes. Lukla airport is known for its thrilling and most dangerous airport in the world. After reaching Lukla, our guides will escort you to a Sherpa settlement, Choplung. After that, you will hike along the paths of Dudh Koshi valley before trekking towards Ghat.
The trail climbs up slightly for an hour to enter your goal spot, Phakding.
Day 3: Phakding to Namche (3440m)
You will be devouring a mouth-watering breakfast when you wake up and head for the trek. Proceeding our journey, after arriving at the village of Benkar. We will now soar further and appreciate the gorgeous scenic panorama of Mt. Thamserku. People need to cross the milky white Dudh Koshi River multiple times over high suspension bridges where strong afternoon winds are blowing in.
Then we will proceed to the elegant Sagarmatha National Park. Here, the officers analyze your trekking licenses. After that, you commence walking in the direction of the Namche Bazaar. We finally come into Namche Bazaar’s busy, crescent-shaped town where we will stay and have dinner for the night.
Live in Namche Bazaar overnight.
Day 4: Acclimatization Day
You will be relaxing so that you can adjust to the altering temperature and environment.
You can visit Namche Bazaar as it has fundamental facilities for tourists like ATMs and cyber cafés. It also has many interesting restaurants that serve precise Nepali cuisine, bakery, etc. You can travel to Sagarmatha National park which is abundant in biodiversity. You can witness and participate in Sherpa culture, Everest ascenders, flora, and fauna, etc. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.
Day 5: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3860m)
Start your day with a delicious breakfast then we will head for your trek. While trekking along the cliff, we drop down to the white stream of Dudh Koshi at Phunkithanka. After traversing the bridge, we ascend the steep path up to the Tengboche. On the way, we can see abundant monuments from the Buddha. Finally, after a few hours of climbing uphill, we reached Tengboche Village.
We will be passing through the luscious woods of Rhododendron. Upon appearance in Tengboche, you can glimpse the close hermitage. The road is heavenly filled with natural beauty. The largest monastery is in Tengboche, in the Khumbu region.
Day 6: Tengboche to Dingboche(4410m)
Start your day with a very energizing breakfast. Today there’s a modest downfall crossing the jungle of rhododendrons. Then we will move across a bridge to Pangboche through the Imja Khola.
The route follows Dingboche, with a perfect trek of 3-4 hours. A crude hospital could be witnessed in Pheriche regulated by the Himalayan Rescue Association. It governs only in major seasons (March-May and December-November).
Day 7: Acclimatization Day, Hike to Nagarjun (5000 m)
Start your day with a very energizing breakfast and we will move up for today’s walk. On the way, you will face many encounters. You’ll endure some wonderful mountain panorama like the 5th highest peak in the country, Mt. Makalu. Mostly because this trek helps in acclimatization.
This 3–4-hour trip gives slim possibilities to see the snow leopard. enjoy the scenery from the height and tumble down to Dingboche.
Day 8:Dingboche to Lobuche (4950m)
Start your day with a very energizing breakfast and we will move up for today’s walk. Then we will arrive at Thukla after a while ascent. Then, we will take a break for a while and follow a steady territory. This is the place where many tombs are erected dedicated to climbers who perished while climbing on Everest.
After reaching there, we will climb down the valley and walk down to the Lobuche yak grasslands.
Day 9: Lobuche to Gorakshep(5160m), hike to EBC (5545m)
Start your day with a very energizing breakfast and we will move up for today’s walk. Then we will head for Gorak Shep. The trail moves through pebbles and is taking off to be rough and mudd. Then we will be encircled by massive mountains.
The high glacier (Khumbu) you’ll notice along with the trail. You’ll check into a motel after you hit Gorakshep. Then we will eat something and take off to EBC. A rapid 1-2 hour stroll around the Khumbu glacier will direct us to the base camp. The yellow tents of many trekking such as you will welcome us at the base camp.
You will spend some time there exploring the frosty atmosphere. Then we will head back to Gorakshep. Overnight in Gorak Shep.
Day 10: Hike to Kalapatthar (5644m) & Trek Back to Dingboche
Today, with the cold and the cold wind, we are going to be on our hike.
We are going to hike to the Kala Patthar, also known as Black Rock. Once you reach the top of Kala Patthar you’re gonna see a stunning view of Mt. Everest. After spending some time there, we will make photos of memories and we’ll descend to Gorakshep. After having breakfast we will head back to Dingboche.
Day 11: Dingboche to Chhukung (4760m)
We will commence our day with an energizing breakfast. Then, We will be trekking for 2 hours to reach Dingboche to Chukkung. The magnificent Chukkung is a glorious valley held between mountains such as Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Imja Tse, etc. You will get the striking panorama of these mountains.
Relatively nice and worthwhile scenery of these beautiful mountains and their glaciers you can appreciate. The beautiful Imja Khola river rides past the small settlement of Chukkung where you’ll be dwelling tonight. Overnight in the Chukkung.
Day 12: Chukkung to Island Peak Base Camp (5100m)
We will commence our day with an energizing breakfast. We will travel south after devouring, twirl east, and arrive at the primary valley. We will tour along the river and pass over the glaciers massive of Imja and Lhotse. Then, before reaching the ravine where you can doze off in tents.
The beautiful side of the Imja Tse (Island Peak) can be recognized from the base. Overnight in a tented camp in an Island base camp.
Day 13: Climb to Island Peak, return to Chhukung
Early morning having breakfast. With all our climbing equipment we will be leading the way toward Island Peak. It’ll take approximately 2 hours to arrive at the High Camp, and then we’ll ascend the big canyon of ice. You’ll trot a ridgeline to the height of the glacier and climb a steep snow incline to reach the peak.
You can get a stunning view of the mountains there. Upon spending some time there we’ll head back to base camp elevated and drop down to Chhukung.
Day 14: Chhukung to Tengboche
Initiate your beautiful day with an enjoyable breakfast. We will be leading the way towards Tengboche. From Chhukung, we will hike down into Pangboche and proceed to the exact trail. Then, we will get down and ascend back to Tengboche again. We will spend the twilight at Tengboche after the trek. Overnight in the lodge of Tengboche.
Day 15: Tengboche to Namche Bazaar
Now, you will follow your steps back to Namche Bazaar again. This trail will take you through forests covered with pine, where you can find pheasant, musk deer, Himalayan Thar, etc. You will pass through the path lined with prayer flags and beautiful mani walls.
You will then arrive at the gorgeous Namche Bazaar, then head towards your lodge, and take a rest.
Day 16: Trek to Lukla
After eating your breakfast, you will climb down to a suspension bridge and cross many local settlements. You will also hike through the Dudh Koshi river valley and its vicinity. You will arrive at Lukla after 6 to 7 hours of hike.
You will then enter your lodge and freshen up for the time being.
Day 17: Lukla to Kathmandu
You will return to Kathmandu by scenic flight again.
It will take you 40 mins to reach the city. After reaching Kathmandu, our representative will drop you off at the hotel and bid you a final goodbye. We hope your tour was unforgettable and you visited Nepal again and again.
