Langtang and Gosaikunda Trek Introduction
Langtang valley and the Gosaikunda trek are some of the favorites of trekkers. Many people call it the best trek because of its richness in expansive natural views, landscapes, biodiversity, greenery, and the cultural significance of this place. Situated in the north of Kathmandu, the Langtang region is bordered by China. It is the nearest Himalayan region to the capital, Kathmandu.
Langtang is inferred as the “Valley of Glaciers”. This trek also offers stunning views of the Himalayas i.e. Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Langshisha Ri, Yala peak, Gangchempu, Ganja-La range, Dorje Lakpa, Gauri Shankar, and various other snow-capped peaks around the region. The natural vegetation, flora, and fauna are conserved under Langtang National park which expands to the temptation of the valley.
The Langtang region is occupied primarily by the Tamangs and Sherpas, the culture is relatively identical to those of Tibetans. The gorgeous valley contains many monasteries which we will witness going forward to our trek. We’ll commence our exploration from Kathmandu, riding to Syapur Besi, where we begin our hike.
We will trek to Kyanjin Ri to notice the glorious Langtang Himal along with its encircling ranges. After the walk to Langtang, we fall to Thulosyarbu and wander uphill towards Gosaikunda.
Gosaikunda is a pond with natural and cultural connotations. This lake is mounted at a height of 4380 meters above sea level. A vast number of crusaders and shamans (Traditional village superstitious doctors) gather here during August of each year in celebration of the Janai Purnima festival.
The rock between the lake is considered a monument of Lord Shiva. Gosaikunda lake offers an astonishing view of the cliffs and nature around. The Langtang valley and Gosaikunda Lake trek are enclosed by High Himalayan massifs, flora and fauna, natural magnificence, antique monasteries, rural cheese factories, glaciers, and vivid Rhododendron forests. In the spring season, small peaks give you a scenic glimpse of the snow-capped summits and Frozen Lake.
