  Its been a dream for me to trek in the solukhumbu region for years.the trek begins with a fligh to lukla from ram e chap airport situated about 150 km... read more from katmandu.its 15 mon flight to lukla and then the trek statrted.Reached namche bazar after a hectic 18.5 km ups and down.stayed two nights for acclimatization and went for a acclimatization hike to hotel everest view.
At day 3 we reached at pangboche for a walk of around 6 hours from namche bazar.u can have a look at amadablam base camp from pangboche.its tiresome yet a lovely place to be in.
After a walk about 5 hours we set our sail to dingboche for two nights to get acclimatized.the next day we sumited the nag arjuna peak at 5010 meter and came to our base at dingboche.
Day6 started with a mesmerizing view of amadablam all the way to Tukla,from tukla to lobuche its a human gus task to ascend,it takes nearly 1.30 hr for us to go up to the height of lobuche.Here we found lots of memory stone and epitaph constructed by the near and dear ones of many climbers who lost their lives during theie attempt to reach various destinations.lobuche is the place where we first started to get the vibe of Everest a little.
We continue our journey to gorakshep on day 7 and then went on for our dream destination Everest basecamp.The day was sunny as ever u can get.soon we begin to sense the everest it become dark and all on a sudden blizzard started.we were in EBC nearly blind folded.we had to come back sooner than we wanted due to the harsh weather.With having seen all the adverse nature eventually we came back to our base gorakshep and at night the sky was so clear and it was full moon too,so i tried my luck with the go pro long exposure and got some mesmerising photograph.

My guide for the trek was Dhurba. He did a superb 5-star job, allowing me to keep my own pace but also keeping me on schedule. He was very knowledgeable and was able to provide insights on the trek I would have missed out on had I chosen to truly trek solo. Towards the end of the trek I did not feel well from the altitude, and Dhurba made sure I had whatever I needed to feel better. He truly cared and wanted to see me succeed. I felt that I not only had a guide, but made a friend along the way.

Even though it was not initially part of our coordinated plans, Ganga was so kind as to arrange a driver to transport me from my hotel to the airport when I left Kathmandu free of charge.

  ⛰ DR’s Gokyo Ri & Renjo Pass Big Adventure ? - During the worst of the Pandemic lockdown, I found the best remedy (for me) was to be out in nature and improving my cardio/endurance. But after making the same... read more circuit, time after time, I found I needed a more ‘lofty’ objective to strive for. A goal. That’s when I set my sights on the Himalayas. I had been to Nepal twice. Once for charity work after the 2015 earthquake and once to visit Chitwan National Park. I had always wanted to return for a major hiking trek. Unfortunately, the Pandemic delayed my plans. Ganga of the Nepal Hiking Team changed all that. Ganga patiently stayed in touch, responding in a timely manner, helping me in every step of the planning for my high altitude expedition. He took into account my demanding criteria. Namely, that I wanted to:
- avoid the more crowded routes (EBC)
- Focus on seeing more flora & fauna
- Pass through rustic villages, visit monasteries
- Witness changes in terrain and elevation
- Understand the Sherpa and Tibetan cultures
- And all times, safety first
All this was achieved and more! Ganga and his team fulfilled my ✨wishlist✨ and threw in additional surprises (high suspension bridges, yaks, musk deer, Himalayan goral and what I believe was small groups of Himalayan tahrs.
I also could not have achieved this without my competent, experienced, knowledgeable guide and porter. Sincere thanks to Santosh Sapkota and ‘Man’. Santosh always managed our pace and speed, knowing full well that the last 2 hours of an 8 or 10 hour trek/climb would be the most demanding. Always allowing me to keep something in reserve for when I needed it or knowing when was a good time to take a ‘breather’. He also knew the entire route, every turn and when there would be fascinating diversions. What can I say about Man (my porter)? He was equally knowledgeable, absolutely tireless, sure footed and always a happy, cheerful disposition . What, if anything, would I change? Because everything (particularly Lukla flights, both in and out) went smoothly, I was left with +3 buffer days at the end. I would have liked to have stayed at high altitude - visit or linger at another village. Again, to Ganga’s credit, he was able to arrange a last minute tour of discovery for me of the old town Kathmandu & Bhaktapur with a highly knowledgeable and congenial guide (who’s name escapes me). The Nepal Hiking Team were incredible from the moment we landed in Kathmandu. We had a fantastic couple of days in Kathmandu and were taken on a full day tour of 3 historically and culturally important areas by our great guide, Ramesh. After settling into Nepal, we headed off to Lukla to start our trek and met Paban, our trekking guide who was the best guide we could have hoped for! From the first day, he always made sure we got the most out of our days and experienced everything in the best possible light, he also kept us calm and made sure we feeling good but also never freaked out if we did experience normal symptoms from ascending in altitude! We made it through the incredibly scenic three passes, base camp, Chukkung Ri, Kalapattar and Gokyo Ri, and will take home so many amazing memories of Nepal and its people. We can't thank Paban enough for his guidance and friendship, and also Ganga for answering and meeting all of our questions along the journey. We highly recommend NHT for a locally based tour company and would use them on our next adventure in Nepal!
