ROWLING VALLEY TREK

Both our guide Puru and our porter Saban were outstanding! Puru has a young son of his own and was able to immediately bond with our son. That bond was instrumental and really allowed us to make the most of the trek (even during typical challenging three year old situations!). We can’t thank the team enough for such a wonderful experience! Highly recommend.

Our give Arjun was the best guide I have ever met, he shared lots of information of the trek, the culture, other experiences. During the trip, he took care of every aspect that arose: medical care, correctly adapt to altitude, he made sure that we were comfortable during the whole trip. He was not just a guide, he was a friend.

Overall, this has ended up being the best trip I have ever had and it is largely because of Nepal Hiking Team and Arjun and Ganga. Thanks!

  Nepal was my first solo trip ever. I am a 29 year old female from California, USA and have heard the most amazing things about Nepal. I decided to choose... read more this as my destination because i wanted to do a challenging trek. The Nepal Hiking Team (Ganga especially) completely took care of me and made booking the trip a very pleasant experience. Ganga reached out to me less than 24 hours after i submitted my inquiry through TripAdvisor (on WhatsApp) and I was able to book the Annapurna Base Camp Trek about 1 month out before I left (not stressful at all). Ganga is able to customize any trip to any type of request that you may have and will make your experience everything that you want it to be.

Upon arrival at the Kathmandu airport, 2 members of the Nepal Hiking Team picked me up from the airport and took me to the Wood Apple Hotel (Ganga owns this hotel). Ganga greeted me at the Hotel and went through the trek itinerary and I met me trekking guide Paban. The hotel was very nice and right by Thamel District (a lot of hostels/shopping) and it also has an amazing restaurant on the top level. The hotel staff were very accommodating and the hotel was clean. I felt safe in this area at night. I had the entire day to explore Kathmandu after my arrival.

The next morning, i was taken to the Kathmandu airport to catch a domestic flight to Pokra to start my trek (do not take a bus to Pokra because the roads are very bumpy!). The domestic flight was included in the price of the trek and the Nepal Hiking Team had this booked for me in advance. Paban and my porter were waiting for me at the Pokra airport and we had about an hour drive to the start of the trek.

I had such an amazing trek with Paban! It was just him and I, so we were able to change a few aspects of the trek using his technical expertise. He let me know what to expect for the day, what i needed to wear and when to rest to avoid altitude sickness. I felt very safe the entire trek and did not get sick at all. Paban recommended to change the early morning Poon Hill aspect of the trek to a sunset hike which was amazing. We also cut out the hot springs guest house to stay and extra day in Pokra at the end of the trek which I recommend. Paban showed me local Nepal culture and i hung out with him, other guides that he knew as well as the local mountain Nepali. I was able to meet a lot of other trekking guests along the way too at the guest houses we stayed at. We made it back down the mountain in time to watch the World Cup finals at the only guest house in the mountain with a TV :). Also special shout out to my Porter who had gotten the flu and still got through one of the hardest days of the trek!!! He was amazing. After my trek was over, I flew back to Kathmandu. Members of the Nepal Hiking Team were at the airport to pick me up and i stayed another night at the Wood Apple Hotel before i flew home the next day.

***The guest houses/ food/ etc. along the way are all the same so do not pay more than you have to! I reached out to other trekking companies and some were quoting me $6,000 USD for the same trek.***

I was amazed at how well organized the Nepal Hiking Team was and how much I got for paying what i did. The only additional things that i paid for were like Wi-Fi, alcohol and snacks at the guest houses (additional $50 USD) as well as tipping (additional $380 USD total for both the porter and guide).

Cannot say enough amazing things about my experience with the Nepal Hiking Team!! They are one of the largest trekking groups in Nepal and all of the guides are very technical and knowledgeable. I don't think you will be able to find a better price point either.

The Nepal Hiking Team were incredible from the moment we landed in Kathmandu. We had a fantastic couple of days in Kathmandu and were taken on a full day tour of 3 historically and culturally important areas by our great guide, Ramesh. After settling into Nepal, we headed off to Lukla to start our trek and met Paban, our trekking guide who was the best guide we could have hoped for! From the first day, he always made sure we got the most out of our days and experienced everything in the best possible light, he also kept us calm and made sure we feeling good but also never freaked out if we did experience normal symptoms from ascending in altitude! We made it through the incredibly scenic three passes, base camp, Chukkung Ri, Kalapattar and Gokyo Ri, and will take home so many amazing memories of Nepal and its people. We can't thank Paban enough for his guidance and friendship, and also Ganga for answering and meeting all of our questions along the journey. We highly recommend NHT for a locally based tour company and would use them on our next adventure in Nepal!
