ROWLING VALLEY TREK

The Nepal Hiking Team (Ganga especially) completely took care of me and made booking the trip a very pleasant experience. Ganga reached out to me less than 24 hours after i submitted my inquiry through TripAdvisor (on WhatsApp) and I was able to book the Annapurna Base Camp Trek about 1 month out before I left (not stressful at all). Ganga is able to customize any trip to any type of request that you may have and will make your experience everything that you want it to be.

Upon arrival at the Kathmandu airport, 2 members of the Nepal Hiking Team picked me up from the airport and took me to the Wood Apple Hotel (Ganga owns this hotel). Ganga greeted me at the Hotel and went through the trek itinerary and I met me trekking guide Paban. The hotel was very nice and right by Thamel District (a lot of hostels/shopping) and it also has an amazing restaurant on the top level. The hotel staff were very accommodating and the hotel was clean. I felt safe in this area at night. I had the entire day to explore Kathmandu after my arrival.

The next morning, i was taken to the Kathmandu airport to catch a domestic flight to Pokra to start my trek (do not take a bus to Pokra because the roads are very bumpy!). The domestic flight was included in the price of the trek and the Nepal Hiking Team had this booked for me in advance. Paban and my porter were waiting for me at the Pokra airport and we had about an hour drive to the start of the trek.

I had such an amazing trek with Paban! It was just him and I, so we were able to change a few aspects of the trek using his technical expertise. He let me know what to expect for the day, what i needed to wear and when to rest to avoid altitude sickness. I felt very safe the entire trek and did not get sick at all. Paban recommended to change the early morning Poon Hill aspect of the trek to a sunset hike which was amazing. We also cut out the hot springs guest house to stay and extra day in Pokra at the end of the trek which I recommend. Paban showed me local Nepal culture and i hung out with him, other guides that he knew as well as the local mountain Nepali. I was able to meet a lot of other trekking guests along the way too at the guest houses we stayed at. We made it back down the mountain in time to watch the World Cup finals at the only guest house in the mountain with a TV :). Also special shout out to my Porter who had gotten the flu and still got through one of the hardest days of the trek!!! He was amazing. After my trek was over, I flew back to Kathmandu. Members of the Nepal Hiking Team were at the airport to pick me up and i stayed another night at the Wood Apple Hotel before i flew home the next day.

***The guest houses/ food/ etc. along the way are all the same so do not pay more than you have to! I reached out to other trekking companies and some were quoting me $6,000 USD for the same trek.***

I was amazed at how well organized the Nepal Hiking Team was and how much I got for paying what i did. The only additional things that i paid for were like Wi-Fi, alcohol and snacks at the guest houses (additional $50 USD) as well as tipping (additional $380 USD total for both the porter and guide).

Cannot say enough amazing things about my experience with the Nepal Hiking Team!! They are one of the largest trekking groups in Nepal and all of the guides are very technical and knowledgeable. I don't think you will be able to find a better price point either.

We enjoyed ourselves with Surya/Milan on the trek, as they made us feel at ease and Surya clearly explained our itinerary as we went. He did everything possible to make sure we had an unforgettable experience and great pictures, and ensure we were well hydrated to help with the altitude.
Thanks again for a great experience Surya and sorry for our bad attempts at speaking Nepalese!
If we return to Nepal we will look no further!

The whole team prepared us ahead of time and answered all of our questions so we were prepared with the correct equipment for the winter months. We were actually over prepared if anything. The whole experience was amazing from start to finish. This was a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend using Nepal Hiking Team to any of my friends or family. A must do during a trip to Nepal!!!

  I just completed the trek to Everest Base Camp (EBC) with the Nepal Hiking team (NHT). From start to finish the NHT was there to answer numerous pre-trip questions... read more and continuous support during the trek. Ganga and his staff were always there to provide whatever support we needed. As we had a couple days in Kathmandu before the trek began, ( I highly recommend including a couple of days to adjust before starting the trek.) Ganga arranged for a fantastic tour of Kathmandu. Throughout the entire trip everyone from NHT was on-time and ready to make our experience the best possible.

On the trek, our guide Raj and our porter Kumar were literally there every step of the way with us...constant support, advice and encouragement. We couldn't ask for better. Raj was continually working to make sure we had the best accommodations, food, trekking support, access to wifi, taking pictures (even sharing on Facebook and post trip communication), and any need that came up. Kumar was not just our porter but part of the team...he provided support in so many ways from picking up dropped trekking poles to providing us apples and pomegranates with dinner. He even waited to wave us goodbye at Lukla airport.

We made it to EBC only through the continuous support of Raj, Kumar and the NHT. I have absolutely zero reservations in recommending Ganga and his NHT to anyone wanting to explore Nepal. It was an experience I will fondly remember forever!
