Now, let’s talk about the permits needed to visit Langtang Valley. There are two permits required to visit this place. The permits are compulsory as you pass through many checkpoints along the trails. The TIMS card and the Langtang National Park entry permit card are the two permits.

What are the prices? Well, it depends on many factors. In this blog, we will discuss the details of these two permits.

1. TIMS permit card

A TIMS card is one of the permits needed to enter the Langtang Valley. The first checkpoint of this permit will be Syabru Besi, the starting point of the trek. This card is distinguished into three cards: a green card, a blue card, and a pink card.

If you travel individually, you will be given a green card that costs you $ 20. If you travel in a group, you will receive a blue card that costs you $10. If you are of SAARC nationality, you will receive a pink card that costs $ 6.

How to get a TIMS permit? You can get it from the Nepal Tourism Board in Kathmandu or the Trekkers’ Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) secretariat in Kathmandu and Pokhara. To get this permit, you must fill out an application form first.

Completing the application form requires a copy of your passport and two passport-sized photos. Send this to them, and you will be provided with this permit.

2. Langtang National Park entry permit

This permit is necessary as you will pass through this national park. It costs $ 30 for this permit and $ 15 if you are from SAARC. Children under 10 can enter freely. This permit is compulsory and available at the Nepal Tourism Board in Kathmandu. You can also buy them directly at the entry point in Dhunche.
